Student Council

At Queensbridge we have an active School Council made up

of children from Year 1 to Year 6.

At the beginning of each academic year children are invited to put themselves forward and prepare a short presentation. The classes then vote and the councillors are duly elected. The class councils meet every Thursday morning to discuss issues of the day and the councillors meet together once a week as School Council.

As well as discussing things to improve the school they also act as ambassadors and are regularly called upon to meet and talk to visitors. Recent visitors have included a local Hackney Councillor and Meg Hillier MP.

Each year the School Council visit the Houses of Parliament and The Mayor of London’s offices on The South Bank.
